Chore jackets originated in 19th-century France as garments to wear while knocking out day-to-day work (hence the name). We haven’t strayed too far from the original — simple shape, clean patch pockets at the front, an easy fit through the body — but we've taken it up a notch with horn buttons and elevated fabric. This one is made from Harris Tweed, which is a super-special heritage textile from the Outer Hebrides that's by definition hand-woven on a treadle loom in the weaver's own home. (It's regulated by Scottish law.) Only a select few craftsmen are certified for this, and most come from families that have been weaving for generations. Casual jacket, special cloth.
